The Shetland Pony is one of the most enchanting members of the horse world. Tough and hardy they are every inch a Pony. The miniature Shetland must not exceed 34" at the shoulder.
They are believed to have existed in the Shetland Islands for 2,000 years, carrying Peat and Seaweed and also Coal from mines.
Today the Shetland is used primarily for showing and as a marvellous young childs riding Pony.
